The goal
To finish a 3D print to look like antique gold, exploring paint techniques and surface finishing to create a realistic, aged metal effect.
Modelling

I started by drawing a brick wall template on some blue foam, I then scored the lines with a craft knife and deepened them using some rounded clay tools. I cut off some extra foam to create a more organic stone look and used real rocks to press into the foam to get the rocky surface texture.
Painting
I first put down a layer of black and got it in all the cracks and crevices, i then dry brushed over various shades of grey, starting with dark grey then ending with an off white colour. I also dry brushed pure white over the highest points to act as natural highlight and to add more depth.

I used the same technique as the brick wall to create matching stone steps.
